How to arrive

FROM MADRID (by Car)

There are two options:

1) Via the A5, 175 kms (just under 2 hours). Take the Carretera de Extremadura to Talavera de la Reina. There are a number of exits for Talavera before the Arenas exit (approx. 17,5 kms.). Take EXIT 123, signposted:



After taking the exit, drive through the first town - El Casar de Talavera - and Arenas de San Pedro is signposted (40kms).


2) Via the CL- 501 Alcorcón-Plasencia. This route crosses the Tiétar Valley. It is only 150kms, but takes a little longer - 2 hours - as it runs through towns such as Sotillo de la Adrada, Piedralaves and Lanzahita. If you aren't in a hurry, it's worth the extra time as it is a more picturesque route.
